Steve Muh rigging the traverse
A fantastic cave hidden in a limestone fault in the high blanket bog of Largy, Deep Pot was ‘rediscovered’ by the Shannon Group in 2012, having being last visited in the 1970s. After the initial two roped pitches a large chamber is reached in which there are two parallel pots. I have only been down one side (shown in the photos below). These pictures are from a Shannon Group outing to re-bolt and improve a number of the pitches.
