Portfolio

Cave photography is a technical form of photography that requires a high degree of understanding of how light works and interacts with the subject. A cave photographer can use these skills to capture the drama and excitement of underground exploration. Other skills that help out are extreme patience, grit and a pinch of luck. Below is a selection of my best work.

Irish Caves

Irish caves pose many challenges due to their adventurous nature and our cold and wet climate. Photographing these dark places requires a lot of bulky flash equipment, but I find the effort to be highly rewarding. These are some of the most dramatic and beautiful places in Ireland, and they have an untouched and unique quality that is rarely seen.
